About

Built on Precision. Grounded in Care.

We are a preconstruction advisory practice serving homeowners in Pacific Palisades and the greater Los Angeles area — with a particular focus on those navigating the complexity of rebuilding after loss.

Our Story

Why This Practice Exists

Pacific Palisades Preconstruction was founded on a simple observation: homeowners are the least-represented party in the construction process. Architects represent design. Contractors represent their own margin. Insurance adjusters represent the carrier. No one, by default, represents you.

We built this practice to change that. Our work begins before the first drawing is produced and ends when you are confident that construction can proceed — with the right team, the right contract, and a budget grounded in reality.

The fires that swept through Pacific Palisades in early 2025 brought that mission into sharp relief. Hundreds of families lost homes they had lived in for decades. The path forward — insurance claims, design decisions, contractor selection, permitting — is genuinely complex, and the stakes could not be higher. We are here to help those families navigate it with clarity and confidence.

The Chief Architect

Founder & Principal Preconstruction Advisor

Our principal brings more than two decades of experience in residential architecture, construction management, and preconstruction advisory work across the greater Los Angeles market. He has overseen the design and construction of custom homes ranging from targeted renovations to ground-up estates, and has guided homeowners through insurance claims, contractor disputes, and the full spectrum of preconstruction challenges.

His approach is defined by precision and candor. He believes that homeowners deserve to understand exactly what they are building, exactly what it will cost, and exactly who they are trusting to build it — before construction begins. That belief is the foundation of every engagement.

Our Philosophy

Independence Is Not Optional

We work on a fixed retainer basis, paid exclusively by the homeowner. We accept no referral fees, no commissions, and no compensation from contractors, suppliers, or designers. This structure is not incidental — it is the foundation of everything we do.

Radical Transparency

We tell you what we find, not what you want to hear. If a budget is unrealistic, we say so. If a contractor is underqualified, we say so. If a design cannot be built as drawn, we say so — before it costs you money to discover it in the field.

Exclusive Loyalty

Our only client is you. We have no financial relationships with any party in your project other than you. This is not a marketing claim — it is a structural feature of how we are compensated and how we operate.

Precision Over Speed

Preconstruction done right takes time. We do not rush the process to get to construction faster. The decisions made in preconstruction determine the outcome of the entire project — they deserve the time and rigor they require.

Sensitivity to Loss

For homeowners rebuilding after fire or other loss, the construction process is inseparable from grief. We approach every such engagement with the care and patience it deserves — without sacrificing the precision that protects your investment.

A Note on Rebuilding After Loss

We Understand What You Are Carrying

Losing a home is not a construction problem. It is a profound personal loss — of place, of memory, of the life that was built inside those walls. The construction process that follows is necessary, but it is also exhausting, confusing, and often adversarial in ways that homeowners are not prepared for.

We have worked with families in exactly this situation. We know that the questions are not just about square footage and contractor bids — they are about what to preserve, what to rebuild, and how to make decisions under conditions of grief and uncertainty. We bring patience, clarity, and genuine care to every engagement, and we never lose sight of what is actually at stake.

If you have lost your home and do not know where to begin, begin with a conversation. There is no obligation, and no question is too basic.
